Lakeland Unst Ltd

Lakeland Unst is situated in the North Isles of Shetland and is geographically the northern most island in Britain.

The Lakeland Group has been present in Unst since 1995, with six production sites and one Broodstock  site Lakeland Unst provides fish all year round to an average of 4kg gutted weight. All operational sites have the potential to produce 10,000 tonnes of salmon over one production cycle.  The area is predominantly rural and Lakeland Unst provides much needed employment to the local communities.                                                      

Lakeland Unst operates between the islands of Yell, Fetlar and Unst an area known as Bluemull Sound which covers approximately 35 Square kilometers. 

Bluemull Sound has to contend with moderate wave exposure and strong tidal currents. The clear oceanic waters and continuous currents in Bluemull sound provide ideal conditions for growing salmon.
