Freshwater Production
Lakeland Smolt is an integral part of Marine Farms A/S, a company which has been involved in the fish farming industry since 1976. The Lakeland group of companies specialise in vertically integrated production of Atlantic salmon, from the egg right through to market size fish. This gives total control over every stage of the production cycle, resulting in fish of consistently high quality.

Lakeland Freshwater
Lakeland's hatchery business is considered to be the largest independent supplier of salmon ova and smolt to the UK market. The Company has a production capacity of 50 million eyed ova and 10 million smolt. Broodfish are tested individually for the virus disease IPN which is a major selling point. Demand for salmon smolt and ova in the UK is increasing. Approximately 40% of the smolt is used internally and the remaining 60% is sold to external customers. Lakeland's fully integrated operations allows for tracing the salmon from table to egg, and even further.
