Locals Visit Fish Farm

Lakeland Marine Farm Ltd invited the local community to visit the new fishfarm site and see the smolts being discharged from the well boat Viktoria Viking. The company ferried small groups at a time back and forth with a buffet and hot/cold drinks available for all for most of the day.
The visit started with leaving the harbour aboard the "John Arthur" Landing Craft, with a trip around the cages before boarding the Viktoria Viking.
Visitors were able to see the small smolts being pumped out of the ship into the cages. The trips appeared to be a success with adults and kids enjoying the day.
